Diagnosis List

The Diagnoses List form allows you to browse, enter or modify medical Diagnoses known to the system. This form can be reached by choosing Configuration | Diagnoses from the main menu.
The diagnoses information is shown in the table. There is a page browsing facility at the bottom of the table. Clicking on the number will bring you to a page with the corresponding number.
The diagnoses shown in the table according to their hierarchy. Higher level diagnoses are followed by their immediate subdiagnoses. The subdiagnoses names are preceded by hyphen sign. The number of hyphen signs shown corresponds to that diagnosis level. Diagnoses within the same branch of the hierarchical tree are ordered alphabetically. The sorting order can be temporarily broken if you've just edited some diagnosis or entered a new diagnosis. It will restore automatically when you revisit the form.

Press the Edit button to edit the selected diagnosis. This will switch you to an editing mode and text box controls allowing you to edit the data will be displayed for the selected diagnosis. When you've finished with editing press the Save button to save your changes into the database or press the Cancel button to cancel your changes.
When you are in editing mode the table is frozen, you can not move to another diagnosis.

In the editing mode the Parent column shows an ellipsis button. Pressing on this button will bring you to the another instance of Diagnoses List form to allow you to select the parent diagnosis for the one you are currently editing. This second instance of Diagnoses List form will look slightly different from the first one. It would not show you all diagnoses available in database. It would rather show you diagnoses available for selection as parent diagnoses. Therefore you will be prevented from selecting a diagnosis, which would create a circular link. The circular link is the situation when the parent diagnosis is also a child for that diagnosis. For example, suppose you have the following hierarchical chain: A -> B -> C. You will not be allowed to select C as a parent for A because C is already a child for A.
Once you've selected an item in a second instance of Diagnoses List form you will be immediately brought back to a first instance of Diagnoses List form. The selected diagnosis will be assigned as a parent for the one, which is being currently edited.

Press New button to enter a new diagnosis. This will also bring you to an editing mode and the same rule about the Save and Cancel buttons will apply.

Press Delete button to delete the selected diagnosis from the database.

Edit and Delete buttons are only enabled if some patient is selected in the table. Save and Cancel buttons are only enabled in the editing mode.

When you've finished with the Diagnoses List form you can leave it at any time by choosing other option from the menu at the top of the form.
